The Immortals Course.

I've self appointed myself to design a course its going to be the only course with moving parts.
the course is the immortals its about how the vampires are essentially undead for the course i've been designing heads that rise out of the ground and return. similar to whack a mole.

The Head
I've dabbled lightly with the idea of having a translucent head as it can be under lit. portray a magnitude of colours and it will bring out the facial fetures due the the different optical resistance of sections.

The Mechanism
The heads were originally conceived to pop up using compressed air but are currently being developed to use a cam system, it should be strong enough to deal with people standing on and be quiet enough to not be noticeable by players

This is a cut away of a mock up i did in solidworks (note the cliche lens flare bottom left corner) it consists of a outer frame, a sled which will have the head mounted on and a cam on rod inside raising it up and down as it rotates, the beefyness of the rod will probably be increased in the final revision. a handle wont be used instead a serso of some kind will engage the system.

transylvania mini golf

for the main project of the semester we got to opt into a project based off several pictches, i chose to opt for the minigolf group project,
the owners of the buisness came to us for our ability to expand on their vision and produce props and animatronics that are elaborate and robust enough to be suitable.

The niches of the couse is its a uv blacklight course so stuff glows with a light neonesque glow.
and a translyvaia theme the journey through the course is a narative of a journey through transylvania.

We plotted out a draft set of improvements, and it was too conservative. and lacking in swish. intead of a general admendment of the current layout, it was discussed that we should aim more concentrated to 3 or so amazing implements.

I'm keen to use a compressor to create moving elements on the course, my inital idea is to have head popping up out of the ground.  the usage of air means theres not physical gears to get damaged and the only safety risk is a tripping hazzard. when visitng the wet lab they showed polymer reinforce concrete which would make the faces tough or possibly i could mould translucent plastic so i could under light them.

I've also designed a draft head for the dragon.

There is decent culture shock being re-integrated into a large group after having worked solo or paired since, but there feels to be a form of heirachy.

a moment of inspiration ocured just before break with a visit to the 3d lab and the wet lab where we had 2 hours 30 of textile possibilitys.  starting with using the cnc router. to resins, casting and composite materials.
